We are very excited to announce that alongside our models Postmodern Sleeze and Sadistic Sedition, and performances from the lovely Lilly De Valle, we will be joined by the beautiful and talented Roisin of Apollonia Tribal Bellydance. Tribal Style Bellydance can best be described as a stylistic evolution of Traditional Bellydance with an earthy dance vocabulary grounded in deep muscular control and isolation, favouring a classical and “antique” aesthetic with its costuming. Roisin will be performing and also striking a few Tribal Bellydance poses for your sketchy pleasure. If you can’t wait until Saturday to check out Roisin and her dance partner Aoife, on Friday night at

As part of Culture Night 2010, The Bad Art Gallery on Francis Street invited Dr. Sketchy’s Dublin along to host a series of mini sessions through-out the night! Culture Night is an annual event run by The Temple Bar Cultural Trust which sees galleries and museums all across the city opening their doors and running free events from 5pm until midnight for one night only. We were really excited to re-package the Dr. Sketchy’s experience for a drop-in event of this kind. As the footfall would be quite high, we needed to make the sessions short and snappy! We turned our usual 3 hour sessions into snack-size 30 minute sessions, but keeping our usual mix of gorgeous models, prizes and music.

While we love the Mezz in The Twisted Pepper – our original home, we were very happy to gain a bit of elbow room and make the move to The Main Stage Room for September’s Dr. Sketchy’s session. I arrived to the venue to see our two models, Dixie and Fizz head to toe kitted out like 80s Glam Rock stars (if any of you remember the cartoon Jem – they gave The Misfits a run for their money!) HUGE hair, tight pants, lots of accessories and heaps of attitude!! I jumped on the decks and started playing some suitable tunes to keep with the theme, we had everything from Bon Jovi, ACDC, Poison and Motley Crue to some modern tracks from the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs and Spinnerette. Having lost my voice shouting

This months bloggery is committed by July Model Fizz Sedition: Sketchy’s of Saturday 31st of July was our first look at the newly refurbished Mezz in the Twisted Pepper. After a little planning and some ‘Changing Rooms’-style fast-motion furniture shifting, our “big strong men” DJ Brian and photographer Peter of Griffpics.com had fine-tuned our new set up. With a small stage for us to model on and what seemed like a lot more seating than usual, the new layout was definitely a success. The room filled fast and was soon jam-packed with both new and old faces. The theme this month was Candy and a super big thank you to Siobhan S. for baking and bringing AMAZING cookies with her for us all to feast on during the day. Modelling

Our fabulous comrades over at Dr. Sketchy London did wonders for the Sketchy's cause when they were featured in a two page article in The Sunday Times' Culture magazine! We were very proud of them and delighted, but it didn't stop there. Along with piquing a lot of interest in our own branch in Dublin, the article also resulted in myself and Postmodern Sleeze heading off to RTE Studios in Donnybrook for a live link-up with BBC Radio Northern Ireland's Arts Extra. We gave a quick interview which can be heard here. The whole show is half an hour long and worth listening to, but if you just want to hear our little contribution, skip to 12:55.

Oh YES! We had a sneak peek yesterday at the newly refurbished room The Mezz, in The Twisted Pepper and are now SOOOPER excited about this weekend's Dr. Sketchy's Dublin session! The big old bar-turned-DJ-booth is hisory, as is the fixed seating that we used as our stage area. The orientation of the room has been turned around and there is a gorgeous built-in stage in place. There are spots on the stage for 'atmospheric lighting' and a full lighting rig will be going in soon too! The Twisted Pepper is absolutely one of our favourite venues in Dublin. With so many different-sized rooms, they are equipped for everything from an informal meeting, rehearsals, birthday party's, Anti-Art Classes to full on live bands with a
