Branch Blog - Dr. Sketchy's HQ
Brilliant musician and long-time Dr. Sketchy's friend Kim Boekbinder has a revolutionary idea: to pre-sell her US tour via Kickstarter so she can build the perfect show for a devoted audience.
Kim had her first pre-sold show in New York City, which was a dazzling and intimate affair that many of us in the NYC Sketchy's crew were able to attend. There was an amazing stage set, projections, great sound and a livestream that went out to fans around the world.
Now Kim is looking to tour across the US using this same method. You can read more about the tour at her website here at kimboekbinder.com.

Dearest Sketchy friends and fans,
We have the most unfortunate news. Aliza Shapiro, Dr. Sketchy's Boston principal & long-time friend was admitted last week to the hospital with a stroke following a cerebral hemmorage. While she's currently receiving the best of care, it's going to be a long and challenging road back to full recovery.
As a self-employed event producer, artist, and activist in the Boston music and queer arts communities for over 15 years, Aliza has neither employer benefits nor deep resources to support her during this rehabilitation time. Aliza’s Brain Trust has been established

Cheyenne Allott, our beloved coordinator since Fall 2010, is leaving to move back to Portland. She's been the mastermind behind our connections with What Katie Did and Moleskines. We are so sad to see her go and are now looking for a replacement to join us in Dr. Sketchy's HQ.
We are looking for someone to fill this management position who is local to NYC, able to work from home and who is an extremely self-motivated freelancer. Your role will involve being directly responsible for getting funding for Dr. Sketchy’s events world-wide. You will be contacting the events coordinators, Marketing managers, PR directors, etc. of various companies and pitching Dr. Sketchy’s involvement as an event company. We have produced events for brands such as Dos Equis, and for major museums such as the Museum of Modern Art, The Brooklyn
