Dr. Sketchy’s is what happens when cabaret meets art school. Dr. Sketchy’s is the little Brooklyn event that became a movement. Founded in 2005 by artist Molly Crabapple.
Dr. Sketchy’s now has over 116 branches around the globe, including Hollywood, London, Tokyo, Rome, Melbourne and North Alabama.
Dr. Sketchy’s North Alabama is actually three separate branches of Dr. Sketchy’s, in Anniston/Jacksonville, Huntsville, and Birmingham.
Anniston/Jacksonville:
Dr. Sketchy’s Anniston/Jacksonville is held at the new Moxie Belles Performing Arts Center, 326-A East Blue Mountain Road, Anniston, Alabama 36201. We currently have one event scheduled each month at this location, but we will be moving to two events per month in the near future! Dr. Sketchy’s Anniston/Jacksonville is BYOB, with corkage for the first bottle of wine of liquor up to 750 mL included in admission. Additional bottles are +$5, with a maximum of 2 per person.

Dr. Sketchy’s Birmingham is holding its first session at The Nick, 2514 10th Avenue South, Birmingham, Alabama 35205, on Sunday, March 10, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. The Nick has a full bar available for your enjoyment!
Huntsville:
Dr. Sketchy’s Huntsville is held at The Flying Monkey Arts Theater at Lowe Mill, 2211 Seminole Drive SW, Huntsville, Alabama 35805. Dr. Sketchy’s Huntsville is BYOB, with corkage for the first bottle of wine of liquor up to 750 mL included in admission. Additional bottles are +$5, with a maximum of 2 per person.

Mixed in with all that will be unique drawing contests where you can win fun and fancy prizes from local retailers.
The point is this isn’t your typical life drawing class. Here, the drawing sessions are about opening your mind, pushing the envelope, encompassing the model’s personality and uniqueness, fun contests and having a fun time. It’s also about joining various aspects of our city’s culture to benefit of everyone!
