2012 in a Nuthouse.

It's Hogmanay tonight so I figured I'd post one of these horrendous, long-winded blogs about what made 2012 special for me. Then I realised that nobody cared and decided short and sweet was the way to go.

2012 was a fun year for me, that spark of love I have for drawing was rekindled and I decided to have a look into some life drawing in the Aberdeen as well as starting working my way through various "How to be a proper, srs drawerer and make buzillions of $$$ from yewr ahrt" type books, as well as some more light-hearted, comic book orientated affairs.

Anyway, my hunting led me to discover the existence of Dr Sketchy's and, more importantly, the absense of an Aberdeen branch! A few emails and a skype call later, I was underway in meeting some new amazing people and having relentless fun in the process. Starting this branch has been an absolute pleasure and an honour to be involved in. Hoping to start running events more regularly through 2013 and keep spreading the Sketchy name (and decidedly less Sketchy reputation) through the city and shire.

Over the coming year, we also plan to start working a little more closely with Hero Next Door and Gutter Lane to keep bringing life to the growing burlesque and cabaret scene in Aberdeen!

That's about all I have to say about 2012, really. Here's a picture of an embarassed kitty hiding her genitals.

	Happy New Year, doodlebugs!

	Ho Ho Ho Doodlebugs!!

As some of you may know, at the beginning of the December, we had our 3rd event, Dr Sketchy's Non-Denominational, Secular, Environmentally Concious Winter Solstice Cabaret Special! There wasn't an event posted up here, t'was all organised here on facebook! I could send a myriad of excuses your way about why I didn't put together an event here, the short version of a long story is that life got in the way.

ANYWAY! It's been a fun year at Sketchy HQ here in Aberdeen. We've been growing in popularity over our three events with our third being, if I do say so myself, an absolute BELTER of an event with these two handsome bastards headlining!

The official gallery is available at the Red Bairn Photography website and it's worth a wee look! Some fantastic work from Neil and we're really looking forward to working with him again! He's also the lovely chap responsible for the video above, isn't he a gem?! Check him out on facebook here.

Next year we're hoping to have some more fun with y'all and keep spreading into the cabaret scene, trying to bring more of the amazing selection of wonderfully talented performers up into our quiet little corner!

We hope you all have a great time celebrating the winter solstice however you see fit and have a lovely new year! We'll see you on the other side!

	Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Hi Hi Hi there Art Monkeys and Doodlebugs!

Apologies for not being a particularly prolific blogger since our last event! But we're here now, and we'd like to tell you that our last event was fabulous and we're all giddy and excited about the next one!

So, for those of you who are a little sketchy with the details of what exactly goes down at our events, here's a little recap of Wham! Glam! Thank you, Ma'am!

	The Performances

The first of our three performers for our audiences illustrative pleasure (see what I did there...?) was the magical Miss Magenta Lust. She gave us a rendition of her fabulously flamboyant Pink Panther act.

Next up we had the capers of the corrupt, curvy Kim Khaos and her High Treason balloon pop act.

And to finish out the evening there was the fabulous Faye Tality showing us the act known only as "The Tranny One". An act dreamt up specifically to be performed at a Trans Pride event and definitely one of my favourites!

Each of these lovely ladies performed their acts and then spent the best part of an hour posing for all our doodlebugs to draw them. There are some wonderful pictures of the art work (the good, the bad and the... abstract) on our facebook page but two lucky winners managed to snag FABULOUS STAR PRIZES for their efforts!

	Fabulous Star Prizes

For Best Crayon drawing, our lucky winner brought home a copy of Rod Stewart's Foot Loose and Fancy Free LP! I KNOW, RIGHT?! Luckily for us, Anna was not only a great sport but also a Rod Stewart Fan!! Who'd have expected that??

And for the afternoon's best drawing we had the astoundingly modest Eloise and while we don't have a picture of her with her prize, we do have... ME!

The hilarious irony of the Paint By Numbers prize was driven home by the absolutely gobsmacking work Eloise produced to win:

Truth be told, I actually felt really mean for not having a sexier prize for her!

..aaaand that's about it really! Everyone had lots of fun, especially our shutterbug Daniel McAvoy who shall be returning for The Nude Avengers, too! If you're at all interested in photography I recommend you give some of his work a look because he really is marvellous and if you're at all intrigued by what you see, then please feel free to head along to our Nude Avengers event, September 30th.

	Hope to see y'all there!
