New York City Resources
New York is my hometown and my favorite city in the world, so I'm delighted for you to be experiencing it. Here are some resources that should help with your trip.
HopStop.com is a website that will give you subway, bus, taxi, and walking directions anywhere. Yelp.com has opinionated reviews of everything from coffee shops to hotels to hookah dens. Couchsurfing.com is an amazing resource for finding free places to crash. Helper Katie Cowden compiled this list of reasonably priced hotels and hostels. Make sure to check out everything on Yelp.com before you commit.

Testimonials
"Overall, the most inspiring aspect of SketchyCon was the simple fact that yes, we are all running the same concept in each of our respective cities. But how educational and inspiring to see how each branch handled their own sessions and how there was such a distinct feel to each branch that it was amazing to step back and see that. Sometimes you don't get that by checking out the websites or the blogs. The pictures and comments from monkeys and models can be applied to any of the branches. It's what the director is doing behind the scenes and what they have found worked for them and what hasn't worked that made for one amazing and educational day. Thanks for putting on one heck of a day Molly and I can't wait to see what you have in store for this year :)"

"The Sketchy Con is more than just a pilgrimage to visit our inspiration and muse, Molly Crabapple. It is an opportunity to directly connect with the vision and mission of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School. That deeper understanding of Dr. Sketchy allows you to more clearly define and articulate your own Sketchy mission. With that and your new found knowledge in marketing, promotion, sponsorships, design and much more you will be able replicate, on a regional level, the excitement and success that is the Dr. Sketchy international phenomenon. That, and we get really drunk and draw hot models."

"Attending SketchyCon was the single biggest and best investment we could have ever made for our branch. The networking and skill sharing that went on over that weekend was priceless. We learned so many creative and unique things that we were able to bring home and put in place at our branch. We also learned that we were all ready doing so much right and that was a great confidence booster for us. We came home with renewed energy, great promotional and marketing ideas and best of all a sense of connection with all of the other branch producers. I believe it is because of that experrience that we have grown our sessions from 10 attendees a month (if we were lucky) to a new average of 35 a month! We cant wait till 2010 SketchyCon!"
