Kelaine Divine and Loralee Edwards direct the Dr. Sketchy branch.

Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School Lethbridge is a space we use to consistently push boundaries and challenge the status quo within our community. Dr. Sketchy’s provides the visual space and environment to challenge in an interesting and alternative way. We are both are highly involved in the local arts scene and are members of several groups. We regularly are involved in shows and volunteer helping out with bar tending, fundraising, and prepping spaces. The arts community here is very strong (Lethbridge has the highest number of artists per capita of anywhere in Alberta.) and the community is very welcoming. It is much different than larger communities, which can create invisible ceilings for emerging artists.

There is also a less serious side to the arts groups here, humour is used regularly in events like a marching kazoo band and taking an abandoned building and filling it with art.
