A nice Southern girl, sporting a pair of cut-off jean-shorts and a flannel tied in a knot, accessorized with a moonshine-filled flask, will get me more verklempt than an auctioneer with a mouth full of peanut butter every time.  Elle Devene of Gilded Lily Burlesque was that Southern day-dream made flesh, something that's all the more beautiful when, if you're actually from the South, you're well aware the reality is often marred by an entire can of Aqua Net and enough make-up inexpertly applied to make you wonder if you're talking

"I’m not much of a horror fan---in fact, I once had to sleep with all the lights on in the house after watching a particularly scary film one night.  So I would just like to thank everyone involved in planning the theme for this session; I am going to have to edit these photos in a bright, sunlit room while listening to some really happy fucking music . . . followed by several hours of Disney-Channel viewing." ---Jeff Schock, official photographer of Dr. Sketchy's Baltimore

Anything I write about last session with Paco Fish could not possibly do it justice.   It easily was one of the best sessions we've ever had.  We were the first folks in Baltimore to see a new Paco costume and if you came out on Friday to the Windup you got to see the new act that goes with it, which was hysterical.  His poses were dynamic and interesting too as always - I'd be stunned if he didn't have some sore muscles on Tuesday. It started on such bad omens too - minutes before everyone arrived, Russell wolf-howled at a baby

Zna Queene rocked---and from what we hear, a couple folks now have a new favorite band.  I must have posted the LAZERBITCH music video for "Coquette" in twenty places, and made at least six or seven people at the door watch it on my iPhone while I was doing door stuff, but here it is one last time.  Watch the entire video, and you'll even see the Windup Space at the end.

If you missed Marla Meringue last session after a month break to catch up on your chores, re-evaluate your life goals, watch football, or restock your art supplies---well, you obviously didn't re-evaluate your life goals in a very sane manner. And if you missed her to watch the Ravens, we bet you'll be kicking yourself after seeing these photos for choosing to watch a bunch of guys running around in spandex over this cutie. As always, we started with one and two minute poses.

August 9th with Roma Mafia was our last session of the summer before  our traditional (well, now it is anyway) annual August break.  Roma was amazing note to go out on before we all took a breather to regroup, contemplate what we've done with our lives, and dive head-first into a month long bender of birthday party bacchanals, kicking chickens around in Key West (that's not a euphemism), and conducting secret rendezvous in parking garages to arrange the model line-up for the Fall. Alexis and I had previously caught a few of Roma
