Greetings, Art Monkeys!

Recently at Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School, we did a tribute to Andy Warhol's factory. Some of you may be thinking, "Wait a minute! Didn't you already do an Andy Warhol-themed session?" That just shows how little you understand pop-art. We have to do a series of Andy Warhol sessions, each one coloured differently. This time around, we had Dante Posh as Grace Jones, Miss Southern Comfort as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Miss Vivian as Edie Sedgewick, and Madame Rosebud as Andy himself. Justin Lussier took copious photographs of the event.

Santa had a little help in his workshop this year, and we've snuck in, and stolen her from right under his nose! Now the adorable little elf (and one of Richmond's brightest burlesque starlets), Azalea Faye is here to help you improve your drawing skills! The queen of retro kitsch has gathered all of her best holiday decorations, and together with Dr. Sketchy's RVA headmistress and host, Deanna Danger, the two will create a wint...er wonderland workshop for your drawing pleasure! Join us for 3 hours of cabaret life drawing, contests, prizes, drink specials and more! December 18th at the Camel (1621 W. Broad St.), 2-5pm, ages 18+. Admission is only $7, or get $2 off when you show your student ID!

The new location for Dr. Sketchy's Omaha is Brother's Lounge at 38th and Farnam - and my goodness, what a difference a few city blocks can make. Much better atmosphere, more tables, and an actual stage for posing on! The drinks are heavy on the pour and light on the cash (my rum and coke was $3 and damned near clear), and the staff is pleased as punch to have us there. For November's meetup, two lovely models from the next night's Toyland event posed for us in full dolly garb - courtesy of Ralston Costume of course - and we sketched those ladies well into the witching hour. The cash in the hat went to Toys for Tots, so we've all done our good
