It's only 3 sleeps now until the very first Dr Sketchy's in Launceston, Tasmania and I am one excited little cookie!! I can't believe I've been able to pull this off!

With less than 2 weeks between the event and being given the go-ahead by Sketchy's HQ in NYC, this has been a mammoth task. A shoestring budget, two principals who are also working and have 4 part time kids (ranging in ages from 14 to 2), and the Holiday Season (capital letters intended!) were on one side of the equation. On the other side was our love and passion for art, an amazingly supportive community of friends and family, a thriving local art scene and ever growing array of unique performers of burlesque, circus, belly dance and more. Ladies and gentlemen, this is NOT a balanced equation. Which side do you suppose is stronger?

So, yeah, it's happening!!! On Thursday 12th December at 6:30pm, I, Ruby de Winter will make my debut as MC of Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School in Launceston, hosted by the incredibly beautiful people from The Lazy Butterfly. Gracing our modelling stage will be the luscious Lucy Sky Diamond, who has previously modeled for Sketchy's NYC and helped start and MC the Hobart branch. It is going to be just...well...gorgeous! We are so excited and can't wait to share with you the photos from our magnificent launch party, taken by the truly talented Bruce Moyle of Joffre Street Productions.
