Oh, spring is finally in the air—the weeds are blooming, the gutters are unfreezing, and the streets are filling with folks calling out sick. A new season is upon us, and sure, we're all a little older and Death's scythe is a little sharper, but it's no longer as cold as a warlock's whatsit outside and Mourna Handful is on deck for all those lonely sketch pads who've spent the winter huddled together for warmth—so come out of hibernation, have a fancy cocktail or two, and draw with us. And, to celebrate this gorgeous early spring weather, we're offering a special early bird sale for this session: purchase your tickets by midnight Thursday for just $8! Please note that the quantity is very limited and there are no refunds (as always with advance purchases) or rain checks (i.e., no credit for future sessions) on these specially-priced tickets, so if you need more time to plan, you'll still be able to buy your tickets later for $10 until Sunday night, or $12 at the door. From classic to nerdlesque, Mourna Handful is a contradiction in burlesque. The Uncontainable Mourna Handful, and Washington DC's Sweetheart of Dark, is a DC/MD/VA-based burlesque performer and producer. She is the newest member of Gilded Lily Burlesque, and was also a co-founder of Black Tassel Boolesque (2010-2014), who produced shows from the dark and decadent to the creepy and campy. She focuses on character and narration to create stimulating storytelling striptease that always brings the audience to a happy ending. Mourna made her way in 2009 from wide-eyed audience member to onstage ecdysiast by way of Trixie Little's Burlesque Bootcamp. Since then she has performed up and down the East Coast and has appeared in the Jim Thorpe Burlesque Festival, the Pennsylvania Burlesque Festival, Alternacirque's Festival of Doom, the Asheville Burlesque and Sideshow Festival, the Virgina Burlesque and Sideshow Festival, and the first annual Snake Oil Festival in New Orleans, LA.
