Our September 2010 session, "Versos Pintados", was a tribute to Art & Poetry at The Poet's Passage in old San Juan. Featured Models, Jovanska L. Camacho Fuentes and Karla Valdes Ocasi, arrived early to be painted from head to toe by 2 talented members of Sembrando Conciencia (Toni Sierra and Marisely Coronado). Artists from around the island traveled to the heart of Old San Juan and found 2 gorgeous models body painted with imagery that paid tribute to the architecture of Old San Juan, Poetry, and the Poet’s Passage.
The session began with a round of Bad Az jello shots, provided by Chupa Chupa. The magical ambiance of the Poet’s Passage was complemented with musical performances by Shanti Lali Ta; on cello, Jorge Viento; on guitar, and Ana Cristina; providing vocals. It was a perfect storm of inspiration for everyone in attendance. Jovanska and Karla captivated all the artists in the room, making everyone try to capture all the beauty and passion that they reflected in every pose.
It was a wonderful event that would not have been possible without the support and generosity of the poet and owner/operator of The Poet’s Passage, Lady Lee Andrews; the awesome body painters that donated their time and talent, Toni Sierra and Marisely Coronado; our amazing photographers, Gabi Concepcion and Maya Hernandez; and most importantly the fabulous featured models of the evening, Jovanska L. Camacho and Karla Ocasi.
Thanks to all the artists that shared their time and their art with us, thanks for coming and supporting Dr. Sketchy’s Puerto Rico . . .we hope to see you all again at our next session: Dr. Sketchy's PR Presents: “Witches Brew” on Saturday October 23, 2010 starting at 8:00pm at The Poet’s Passage in Old San Juan.
