Dr. Sketchy Auckland (NZ’s first Dr. Sketchy branch) was established in 2006 by artist Peter Heckman. Since then, it’s developed with the aid of burlesque star Leda Petit and MC Lilly Loca to become a artist haven of frivolity and fun for art monkeys and models alike.

Leda has since handed over the torch to long time Dr. Sketchy Auckland MC, the (tarnished) silver tongued Lilly Loca who continues to ensure that the branch upholds its reputation as one of Dr. Sketchy’s most exuberant and boisterously merry branches. She is joined by Mark “Techno” Rous, who is in charge of all the technical mumbo-jumbo. He isn’t actually into techno music, more like Jethro Tull. AQUALUNG!

Dr. Sketchy Auckland’s Burlesque anti-art school life drawing sessions are held bi=monthly in the Wine Cellar, St Kevin’s Arcade in Auckland.

Fun evening of burlesque girlies & geek-tastic babes in skimpy outfits! Wine and liquor is to be consumed! Enticing art is to be created by the quick fingers of many busy art monkeys.

Experience completely unnecessary, but a sense of cheeky fun a must. Entry to Dr Sketchy’s is $10 on the door (to feed the models).
