Oh YES! We had a sneak peek yesterday at the newly refurbished room The Mezz, in The Twisted Pepper and are now SOOOPER excited about this weekend's Dr. Sketchy's Dublin session! The big old bar-turned-DJ-booth is hisory, as is the fixed seating that we used as our stage area. The orientation of the room has been turned around and there is a gorgeous built-in stage in place. There are spots on the stage for 'atmospheric lighting' and a full lighting rig will be going in soon too! The Twisted Pepper is absolutely one of our favourite venues in Dublin. With so many different-sized rooms, they are equipped for everything from an informal meeting, rehearsals, birthday party's, Anti-Art Classes to full on live bands with a really wonderful sound engineer and serious club nights in the basement. The entire staff of the Twisted Pepper are so chilled and a dream to deal with. Add to that the Irish Barista Champion 2009 and 2010 has set up his shop 3FE (Third Floor Espresso) in The Twisted Pepper (my self-imposed coffee-ban will be seriously in danger on Saturday - YUM!) The upshot of all this is that we now have increased capacity for Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Dublin in July and can sell a few more tickets! Tell your friends, family, close aquaintances and work colleagues that you will be spending Saturday afternoon drawing almost nekkid tattooed women, boozing and munching on cupcakes... if they don't shun you for being a deviant, bring them along!
