Dr. Sketchy Austin is once again partnering with The Golden Goose to bring you another South Austin Sketchy event!

But this will be no ordinary drawing session.  On Sunday, September 4, we will be presenting experience figure model and Austin burlesque favorite, Electra Mourning, in a LONG POSE!  So all you painters out there, get ready to create something amazing.

Join us September 4 at The Golden Goose (2034 S. Lamar) for an evening of drawing and fun contests with fabulous prizes from our sponsors. Entrance is $10 cash at the door. Please bring your own art supplies & tips for our model.  Reference photos will be allowed to any artist that signs our waiver and pays $5.

Each session of the Austin Dr. Sketchy’s is a life drawing class turned cabaret extravaganza. Attendees draw glamorous underground performers, compete in contests, network with other artists, and win prizes. Austin Sketchy was one of the first branches, founded in 2006.

You are welcome to arrive a bit early to set up. Please, no messy or smelly mediums, and please clean up after yourself.

Our sessions range in themes from Conan the Barbarian to Marie Antoinette. The models are chosen for their looks and talent, and are (un)dressed in spectacular costumes. Expect good music, cocktails (Sunday is all day Happy Hour at Sherlock's!) and (sometimes) burlesque performances, and sporadic wacky contests (best incorporation of cupcakes? best left handed drawing?). Being good at drawing does not matter: this “Anti-Art School” is open to everyone!
