Our very first event on February 21st was a fabulous success! Our models, Miss Lorrie Ann and Mona Moore, of the renowned burlesque troop Slippery Kittens were an absolute hit! We began with a saucy little dance number as an introduction and spent the remainder of the night drawing and painting and playing and drinking. We learned a "whole heck of a lot" (as some are apt to say around these parts) and with such a solid start it's dizzying to think that we can only go up from here! We gave away tons of super stellar prizes, including two gift certificates from the fabulous Blue Boutique, three incredible art books from our sponsor Baby Tattoo Books, and two semi-sketchy drawing material prize packs with Prismacolors and Microns. We would also like to thank our most alternative sponsor, the infamous and awesome SLUG magazine, for helping us to get the word out to all the hipsters and homies on the mean streets of the SLC. Look for the ad for our next event in their March issue! And yes, it's official, Dr. Sketchy's Salt Lake City is ON for next month, same bad place, same bad time. Since Bar Deluxe turned out to be the BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD to hold Dr. Sketchy's SLC events, it's pretty obvious that we'll be calling it our home for the foreseeable future... and hopefully we don't turn into one of those weird, smelly, artsy roommates who starts dressing in dream catchers and animal fur and spends hours listening to obscure vinyl records backwards...
