Last Friday we had a sticky situation on our hands. In the best of ways. Northampton's March session gave the finger to the gross weather outside and seasonal doldrums with an ode to sweets - our two models ended up covered in syrup and whipped cream, dj Studebaker Hawk spun records, and some great sketches came out of it.
We also are grateful for our audience for bringing donations to The Northampton Survival Center, which gives free food and other items to those in need throughout our community. And in addition to our loverly models and dj, we thank as always our venue The Elevens, director Caity Vail, MC Xtian Perfection, Head Art Monkey Kyle Gintzler (and our other art monkeys!), Lesley Arak for taking
Our circus sideshow session was so much fun and Ruca did an AMAZING job that we will definitely have her back again soon. There was cotton candy, circus animals (the cookies) and circus peanuts (the hideously orange ones) for everyone. Our attending artists that show up to our sessions have such a beautiful amount of talent that I don't mind saying: it WAS the greatest sketch on earth. You can see the photos in our photo section.
Next month we have the prehistoric princess Flossie Carmichael back from the sketch that time forgot. We may be primitive art monkeys but Flossie will create the fire to ignite your pencils and release your primal instinct to draw, draw, draw.
I’m delighted to say that our new venue is working out an absolute treat for us in The Good Bits, so much so that our resident photographer Griffpics can unleash his talents and truly capture the whole session – models, performers, audience and the fantastic art work that is being produced at our a sessions.
