Branch Blog - White River Junction
For our First Anniversary of Dr. Sketchy in the Junc, we would love to bring you a professional Elvis impersonator. But a talent like that is going to set us back about $500... which isn't exactly in the budget at the moment. So to ensure we'll be able to pay our Elvis, we are holding a campaign to raise the money before we commit to the booking. If you want to draw Elvis (live!)--and honestly, who doesn't?--please donate now! http://sketchyjunction.webs.com/apps/donations/ Your donation guarantees you free admission, plus some other cool stuff. Thanks! ~Miss Phoebe~

Like a stay of execution, Dr. Sketchy's of White River Junction has been given a reprieve. This month's session will be held on the lower level at Lebanon College in Lebanon, NH. We are so thankful to the school and their generosity. Hopefully, by August, we'll have a venue that is more traditional to the Dr. Sketchy way, but for now we are just glad to have a roof over our heads.

So, after three moderately successful sessions, the White River branch is in trouble... Deep, deep trouble... We have a session coming up in about two weeks and our venue just folded. No venue, no show. Miss Phoebe has some big decisions to make: Try to keep the project going and search for another venue? Let the branch fade before it's even really bloomed? Put the branch on hiatus mode? It's a lot to think about it but there aren't many options. Miss Phoebe is really bummed out right now and isn't sure what to do next.

Dr. Sketchy's of White River Junction has had two sessions now, so I thought it would be a good time to do a quick review. Our first session was "Hobo Chic" featuring Adora and Dangeresque, with entertainment by Fraea. I had about 15 attendees and, after paying the house, the models, and my babysitter, I just about broke even. I got a lot of positive feedback and made some new friends. Most of all, it was a really fun time. The artists who attended came from all walks of life, varied skill levels, and had different perspectives on the models. Dangeresque and Adora performed beautifully, holding difficult poses and allowing their individuality to shine through. I was proud of what I had accomplished, although I have to add praises for my team, without whom it would have been a disaster. My friend Leigh jumped in to be
