Branch Blog - White River Junction

Miss Phoebe has finally loaded the pictures from our sixth session, "Fall Fantasy:  The Logger vs. The Pixie", available here:  http://www.drsketchy.com/branch/photo_gallery/whiteriverjunction.  As always, our photographer, Jon Smith, did a fantastic job capturing the session.  We're now gearing up for the October 26th session, "Zombie Attack!  Now with More Zombies!"   Instead of our standard two models, we're going to have four zombie models for our artists to draw.  It's going to be a great time with plenty of surprises, cheap drinks, door prizes, and live entertainment.  For more details, please visit us at Read Full Article

Team Sketchyjunction is already getting geared up for our October 26th session, Zombie Attack!  (Now with More Zombies!)  A friend of the team, Dan Jensen of Jensen PhotoArts made us an absolutely fantastic poster for the event, and we're currently in the costume-designing stage.  Instead of our usual two models, we really wanted to have a zombie hoard (hence the "more zombies" tagline) so we've hired four great models for our cadre of artists to draw.  Additionally, we have the lovely and extremely talented toni atari booked as our entertainment for the night.  You won't want to miss this death life-drawing

A couple of weeks ago we had our "American Steampunk" session. The models were Landship Lt. Nathaniel Flint (aka Nate Powell) and Lady Kirst Callahan. They were both absolutely wonderful and I saw a lot of great artwork come out of that session. Our photographer, Jon Smith, did an excellent job in capturing the models poise and personalities. Our entertainment for the evening was Michael Kennedy, who played an authentic industrial revolution-era concertina and a singing saw (which was absolutely amazing!) He also told some really cool old-time stories. If anybody every needs this type of performer, please let us know and we will happily send you his contact information! Pictures can be found on our photo page, broken into two groups: Models/performers and Artists/spectators. Our next session, which is scheduled

Only about a week and a half until American Steampunk. This is going to be a splendiferous workshop with brass goggles and dirigibles as far as the eye can see... Okay, that may be a bit of an overstatement, but we are going to have two wonderful steampunk models! Landship Lieutenant Nathaniel Flint and Lady Kirst Callahan will hold long and "steamy" poses, so make sure there is plenty of lead in your clockwork pencils. Some years ago, Miss Phoebe found a stellar example of authentic steampunk art. Circa 1900, the item is a postcard depicting how an artist believed Miss Phoebe's beloved hometown of White River Junction would look "in the future." In the future, the artist assumes, village would have a skyrail, a trolley, a subway, and airship service. You can see it Read Full Article

After holding one session at Lebanon College in Lebanon, NH, we are now returning to the American Legion in beautiful downtown White River Junction. The Legion's troubles are over, which means ours are too! For now, anyway... I'm really excited about our August 3rd session, American Steampunk. We have two fabulous models lined up, Lady Kirst Callahan and Landship Lt. Nathaniel Flint. For entertainment we have booked Michael Kennedy, who is a very talented musician and story-teller. One of the instruments Michael plays is a concertina built during the Industrial Revolution of the late 1800s! It should be a fantastic show and as always there will be CHEAP DRINKS! FUN DOOR PRIZES! and GREAT ENTERTAINMENT! We have not yet finalized a theme for the September 14th session, but some of the suggestions have been for
