Hey Sketchers! Here's a wee treat for you, submit your artwork & be part of the Japanese Arts Festival 2012 at the Aotea Centre from 30 March - 1 April!
The festival's main objectives are to bring Japanese artistic culture to New Zealand and provide grounds for local and Japanese artists to network and showcase their artwork.
80 Japanese artists will be contributing artworks as well as over 50 local artists and over 240 creations will be on displau. 8 Japanese artists will be making their way to Auckland especially for the event.

The illustrious Edward Gorey is the inspiration for this Sketch. With Dusty Bacon's creative hand we'll usher in a darkly comic event at Good Luck Macbeth on Saturday, March 31st from 7-10pm. Enter through Fulton Alley at door 119 with $7 to get in. Come in a Gore-riffic costume to really enjoy the mood. Dr Sketchy's Anti-art School Birmingham - Eastern Promise or 'In Birmingham no one can hear you Harem'

Birmingham in January is a cold desolate place so we were all very pleased that the Dr Sketchy's gang would be warming us all up with the promise of palm trees, desserts, deserts, camels, fezzes (fez's?, fezzs?) and some general 'Eastern Promise'.
My local life drawing group has been going to these for a while (we all travel from Shrewsbury and it has become some what of an eagerly anticipated event) and after meeting them downstairs in the bar we headed up to the Victoria's penthouse studio (upstairs bar). We were barely halfway up the stairs when we

March has begun and Jennica wowed us all with a trip back to the fifties. She blew us all away with bringing her own set design and fantastic poses which sealed her place in modeling for us again as she easily became a fan favorite. You can see pictures in our photo section and keep your eyes peeled for catching her again ;)
Next up, we have the lovely Lorelei Lee. She promises not to play too many pranks if you promise not to fool her with your sketches.
