Next session of Dr. Sketchy’s Baltimore is Sept. 10th with Nona Narcisse of New Orleans’ Slow Burn Burlesque!
Don’t know who Nona Narcisse is? Watch this.
Honestly, some of the best drawings that have ever come out of Dr. Sketchy’s Baltimore came out of that session. One artist, after missing the session and seeing the artwork and photos afterward, literally tried to throw herself into traffic. I wouldn’t lie to you. It’s not in my nature – well, maybe it is, a little.
Seriously, her last session was one of our favorite sessions of all time. Her poses were amazing, her costumes set a whole new bar, and her performance, as you can see, was jaw-dropping.

Now THAT is obscure. Anyway, we're a little late with this blog post, but, well, that's what happens when a giant storm tears up the East Coast with no fucking warning. What are you going to do? In any case, Deviana Fox was, is, amazing. Take a look.
Wow.
Thanks to Atomic Books for donating The Great American Pin-Up which some lucky person won in one of the contests, and thank you
Nicolette Le Faye was one of our very first models, four years ago when we were young whipper snappers. We keep getting older and older, and grayer and grayer, and she still looks exactly the same (if you don't believe us, scroll through the blog---I think she might be a witch, a la Stardust or some shit). Oh, for the days when we were wet behind the years, thought the world was our prawn, and we didn't think twice before throwing a jar of pencils at a cop car.

Monday, July 9 is the next session of Dr. Sketchy's Baltimore with Cherokee Rose!
Burlesque performer Cherokee Rose recently moved to DC from the Chicago area and has been busy performing with several Sketchy’s favorites, including GiGi Holliday, Reverend Valentine, and Candy del Rio. I don't know how familiar you are with the world of burlesque, but her rap sheet reads like a freaking Christmas list. Just a couple of highlights from her extensive résumé: She was part of Michelle L'amour's Chicago Starlets when they won Best Group at the 2010 Best of Burlesque competition in Vegas and, more recently, she won Most Classic at the 2012 Boston Burlesque

Swords. Let's just put that up front, right now. There will be swords. Scimitars, even.
Next session of Dr. Sketchy's Baltimore is Monday, June 25th with belly dancer Deviana Fox!
I'm pretty sure most of you haven't drawn Deviana before, but she posed for us once before right after we moved to the Windup Space. Want to see?
Folks flipped out. People talked about that session for at least a year. If you don't get some good drawing done, I'll give you one of my slightly battered, right kidney. Did you go look
Take a look above at last session with Marla Meringue of Sticky Buns Burlesque!
Monday, June 11th, is our fourth anniversary! Nicolette Le Faye will be your muse for the evening. Doors at 6, we'll show the Dr. Sketchy's Documentary at 6:30, and drawing at 7! We've also be debuting our new portable stage which should open up all sorts of new, interesting poses. We'll have drawing contests with great prizes from Atomic Books and Baby Tattoo Books and beer specials from Flying Dog Brewery. Don't be late!
