➧ What is Dr. Sketchy's?

Since 2005, Dr. Sketchy's has been the name in alternative drawing. From illegal flashmobs to the Museum of Modern Art, Dr. Sketchy's has brought artists a rule-breaking cocktail of dames, drinking and drawing. Dr. Sketchy's branches draw in over a hundred cities around the globe, from Akron to Zagreb. Whether you're an artstar or a scribbling newbie, Dr. Sketchy's is the perfect place to get your fill of life-drawing

Dr. Sketchy's is the brainchild of artist Molly Crabapple

This website is the official site for all licensed Dr. Sketchy's branches. If you hear of a branch, but they do not have a profile on this site, be warned that they will not provide our authentic Sketchy's experience. Check our Branches page for your local branch!

Oh hi, Art Monkeys! It's time once again for us to pay tribute to Molly's ultrafamous artist friends with part 3 of our Art Star series. This time, we saluted Tara McPherson (whose art can be seen above this very paragraph!) Playing the part of one of Tara's absenthearted protagonists was the slender coppertop we know and love as Stormy Leather.

Stormy Leather is almost sickeningly beautiful. Seriously, this borders on uncomfortable levels of pulchritude.

Howdy, Comrades!

On the night following the holiest day in the Hebrew calendar, Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School celebrated Molly reaching some large, round number of Twitter followers with a secret Dr. Sketchy's session in Times Square. Molly announced the time and place on Twitter. Little Brooklyn modelled for the session and Justin Lussier took photos, as did special guest photographer Caitlin Field. Just take a look at one of Caitlin's photos:

These are but some of the literally multiple art monkeys who braved the water that was falling from the sky to come to the session.

Hello, Art Monkeys! Welcome back to Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art Blog! Our market research has shown that there is a large overlap between artists and sporting fans, particularly fans of professional wrestling. In our last session, we tried to capitalize on this by taking you backstage with the mysterious man known as Manko, whom we imported all the way from the Mexican district of London.

Our dual photographers Justin Lussier and Steve Prue shot a full shitload of pictures of this session. I have edited that amount down to about a quarter of a shitload.

So, I have received the photographs from last weeks session, and there were literally hundreds of them. This is fucking insane. While I figure out how I'm going to handle this, I thought I'd show you a little taste of what's to come.

I know those of you who were at last week's session were probably wondering, "What would this session look like if I were a fish who was looking around the room very quickly?" Well, thanks to photographer Andras Frenyo and his panorama and fisheye lens, now you can know!

Some of you may be saying to yourself, "That's nice and all, but what if I were two fish, one of whom was rotated 180 degrees?" Well, Andras Frenyo can help you with that, too!
